VisionThere is enough food to feed the planet, yet too many people are hungry. There is an abundance of knowledge about how to produce good food, yet too many people are poorly nourished. Inequality and the over-commodification of food have left many of us disconnected from food production and without access to healthy food. We are working towards building a school community that is knowledgable about food systems, is nourished by a healthy diet and is active in reducing hunger. Future BHS students will produce food in the BHS community garden and greenhouse year round and support local people in need of good food with what we grow. The garden and greenhouse will serve as the focal point in food justice education and community partnerships.
